The beginning of the end

Well this is it. It's over. Officially fed-up.

I have been spending the past 30 years keeping up with the latest technology always playing the role of the early adopter. Used computers before they had screens. Had a Palm when it was U.S. Robotics, actually I have had more failed and phased-out electronics than I can remember. My only goal anymore is to stay one step ahead of my nephews and nieces - but they don't even care about the technology, they just use it, which is not to say that they are experts at it, far from it. The maddening thing is that they just use the parts or functions that appeal to them and their friends - networking effortlessly and tossing aside stuff that isn't relevant to their needs. Me, I have to work to keep up. I have to try every last function - partly out of curiosity but mostly because I don't run in those circles. I can't network with them on MySpace - in fact I would probably be arrested or caught on tape by NBC if I tried.

Know thyself. I am now officially a Mouth Breathing Old Codger. I guess I will go build a kayak in my garage. Harrumph.
